Thread Bare was created as part of the Up and Coming project to promote young talent in the Wirskworth Arts Festival, 2013. This was a commissioned and paid performance work thanks to Debi Hedderwick and Arts Council England. Thread Bare was a collaborative performance event which involved film artists, musicians, choreographers and dancers.

Opening of Shopping Centre in Leeds

Dancers selected from Falmouth University and Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds.
Paid and professional dance work to perform at the opening event of the Leeds Trinity shopping center April 2013. The selected dancers spent three days rehearsing a dance piece at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance before performing alongside a Cirque du Soliel member as part of a lunchtime and evening performance.

Youth Dance England Young Creatives
2009
Alexa Mason and Sally Bower were selected by a panel of artists, including Claire Somerville, Linda jasper and Wayne McGregor, to show their ten minute duet as part of the Youth Dance England Young Creatives competition. They were appointed professional dancer and choreographer Katie Green as a mentor during their rehearsal period, then spent a weekend at Roehampton University taking classes, workshops and lectures from artists such as Wayne McGregor and Richard Alston, prior to a performance at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.

The youth company performed at many events and platforms, including a performance alongside Retina’s professional company in Belgium for the Body Dynamics Festival in October.
